We provide you with private medical insurance (PMI) benefits through AXA and Dental Benefits through BUPA. Employee and dependent cover is company-funded in full by Okta Ltd. Premiums paid by the company are a taxable P11D benefit.

Private medical insurance in the United Kingdom is designed to complement the National Health Service (NHS) by covering the cost of private treatment for non-emergency acute conditions. (An acute condition is a disease, illness, or injury that is likely to respond quickly to treatment. Long-term illnesses are not usually covered.)

The plan provides comprehensive cover for your healthcare needs, including:

  • Group private medical insurance policy provided by AXA (plan # 97024)
  • Medical history disregarded underwriting
  • Comprehensive cover

  • Family cash benefit of £150 for each birth or adoption

  • Full refund for outpatient services

Okta offers a dental insurance plan to manage the cost of dental care throughout the year. Whether it’s for routine check-ups, a scale and polish or more complex treatments, most people will visit their dentist at least once or twice a year to ensure that they maintain a good standard of oral health.

As a member of the Bupa Dental Care Level 4 plan, there is no pre-joining application and you are immediately covered for eligible dental treatment, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

Pension scheme

Okta’s pension helps you plan and save for your retirement on a tax-favored basis. Each year, Okta will contribute an amount equal to 4% of your salary, provided you contribute at least 5% of your salary through salary sacrifice. Contributions are based on annual basic salary (paid monthly). Note: you must contribute the full 5% contribution in order to receive the company contribution of 4%. Therefore, an employee salary sacrifice of 1-4% will receive no employer contribution.

With salary sacrifice, you agree to give up part of your contractual gross salary in return for non-cash benefits, such as pension contributions. The amount you give up is taken from your gross salary and paid straight into your pension as an employer contribution. You do not pay any tax or National Insurance Contributions (NICs) on your contributions, which helps you to maximise your take home pay by reducing your NICs. Okta also benefits from reduced employer NICs.

If you’re a new employee, you will automatically be enrolled in the pension scheme with Aviva, effective the first of the month following your date of hire, if eligible.

If you wish to opt-out of the pension scheme, you have 30 days to do so by calling Aviva at 0800 056 3192 or visiting their website. Read the important information and confirm to POPs that you personally submitted the notice to opt-out.

Making changes: If you would like to make a contribution change to your pension scheme, complete the Pension Change Form.

Our pension scheme provider changed from Royal London to Aviva effective 1 December 2023.

Following a full market review of Okta’s UK pension arrangements, we are pleased to share that effective 1 December 2023 we have moved to new pension provider, Aviva, and have transitioned the Okta pensions from Royal London and Aegon.

Mobile phone and internet

Okta reimburses full-time employees for personal cell phone and internet service. A monthly maximum reimbursement amount applies. For more details, see the T&E policy on the Expenses Wiki.

You need to submit your cell phone and internet receipts for approval and reimbursement.

Okta perks

No matter where you sit in the world, our programmes help to foster a sense of belonging and to reflect the communities in which we live and work.

Check out the Workplace Services Wiki to see what’s happening in your local space.

Car allowance

Okta provides a car allowance to employees in certain job roles.

Rewards

Your base pay works together with Okta’s bonus, equity grants (aka, “long-term incentives” or “RSUs”), and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) to provide you with a highly competitive pay and ownership opportunity. It’s how you share in the success of the company you’re helping to build and grow.

Cash incentive bonus program

How the cash incentive bonus program works

Okta sets your bonus target as a percentage of your base pay, based on your job level.

The company’s performance against pre-established objectives determines whether Okta will pay bonuses each year—there is no guarantee. Company performance objectives may include achievement of annual revenue targets, net annual recurring revenue, bookings, and EBITDA.

Long-term incentives (RSUs)

Okta’s equity grants are made in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)

RSUs are a form of equity compensation issued by Okta.

Okta grants RSUs at no cost to you.

For each grant, Okta converts the value into a number of RSUs based on the monthly average closing price of one share of Okta in the month prior to the grant.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan

You have another opportunity to benefit from the company’s growth and the shareholder value your work helps to create. By choosing to participate in the employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), eligible employees can invest directly in the company—by purchasing shares of Okta stock at a discount.

Buy shares of Okta stock twice a year and get at least a 15% discount on your shares. Eligible employees have two opportunities each year to enroll: May and November.

Questions? Go to the Okta Equity page on The Landing or email Stock@okta.com.

The ESPP may be a great investment

Through simple after-tax payroll deductions, you can purchase shares of Okta stock at a minimum 15% discount.

You decide if you’d like to participate, and how much you’d like to contribute—anywhere from 1% to 15% of your eligible pay. Certain limits apply.

Enrol online in May or November

You must enrol for the ESPP while the enrolment period is open. If you miss the window, you’ll need to wait until the next open enrolment period.

Shares are purchased twice a year on June 20 and December 20

The amount you pay for the shares is the lower of two prices—the offering date price or the purchase date price. The 15% discount is applied to the lowest of the two prices.

Once purchased, your Okta shares are yours to keep

When the purchase period ends, shares are purchased for you and are deposited into your E*TRADE account. At that point, you own your Okta shares, and you decide how long to hold them.

Gender pay gap

At Okta, we're committed to promoting equal pay for equal work. To learn more about this commitment, see our gender pay gap report

Mental Wellbeing with Modern Health

Okta cares about your health and happiness. But sometimes, everyone needs a little help with balancing work, family, and everything in between. That’s why we partner with Modern Health to provide incredible benefits for your holistic well-being.

Modern Health, Okta’s EAP provider, balances on-demand digital tools with virtual coaching (and therapy, if needed). You set up the approach that best meets your needs. Your family members are also covered, all at no cost to you.

How Modern Health can help you and your family

Modern Health provides support for many areas:

  • Work performance—find coaching and support to improve productivity, leadership skills, work relationships, and professional development
  • Financial well-being—for example, when your student loan debt seems to take over, or you need help with saving for an emergency and planning for future financial needs
  • Help with life challenges—such as preparing for having a family, adjusting once you’re a parent, getting help with child care and elder care, and dealing with loss
  • Diversity and inclusion—to better understand and overcome bias or find balance between your personal and work identity
  • Stress and anxiety—for when even small things seem really big and scary
  • Healthy lifestyles—to help you move more, eat healthier, and sleep better
  • Mindfulness and meditation—techniques for managing stress, focusing, and meditating
  • Relationships—with your partner, friends, family, and dating

You can share Modern Health with qualified dependents. Generally, this is consistent with how your health plan defines dependents. Some examples include:

  • A legal spouse or registered domestic partner
  • A child between the ages of 6 and 26
  • A relative that resides in the same household

You will receive up to 8 therapy + 8 coaching sessions per person per calendar year, in addition to unlimited access to Modern Health digital resources, like Meditations and Soundscapes, and Community Circles.

Getting started with Modern Health

Modern Health dependent access is initiated by the employee through the app settings. They provide some basic information such as name, birthdate, and email address, and then Modern Health sends a message to them to register. In most countries it's only available to those 6+ for therapy, and 18+ for all content. Learn more about getting started with Modern Health.

Sign up! We recommend using the Modern Health app to get started, or you can register at Modern Health.

You can also access Modern Health via SSO on your mobile device. Follow these five steps:

  1. Open Okta Verify.
  2. Click on: Launch Dashboard.
  3. Select: Sign in with Okta FastPass.
  4. Search for Modern Health in Dashboard and launch it.
  5. If you THEN download and open the Modern Health app, you should be automatically authenticated.
Take a confidential well-being assessment and go from there

You’ll complete a well-being survey, and from there Modern Health will deliver your personalised wellness plan, match you with the appropriate personal coach, and provide you with personalised links to the Modern Health digital library.

Connecting on your terms

Modern Health provides you with up to eight video sessions with your coach or therapist. You also have unlimited access to your coach through text or email.

If your coach or your well-being survey indicates you have a clinical need—for example, you may suffer from depression—Modern Health will recommend a therapist to work with in addition to your dedicated coach.

As you get to the end of your covered sessions, you and your coach or therapist can work with Modern Health to determine the next steps for continuing your relationship.

24/7 counselor phone support for urgent needs

Need support now? Modern Health provides 24/7 counselor phone support for urgent needs and critical incidents, extended work-life services, manager support for workplace concerns through their EAP partner, Workplace Options (WPO). Also, check out Circles, which are community spaces to help you learn, grow, and connect across topics that impact your day-to-day life. You have unlimited access to Circles – attend as many or as few as you like. Modern Health regularly refreshes the available topics so feel free to come back if you don’t see something for you right away. You can also view videos on demand, if you can’t make it to a live Circle. Learn more about Circles
