Healthcare
Healthcare overview
Okta offers an HMO plan through Generali with a maximum benefit limit of 250,000 PHP and an open private room and board level. All employees are automatically eligible for this coverage, and you may also enroll your eligible dependents. Eligible dependents include your:
- Spouse (married employees only)
- Children (married or single parent employees)
- Parents up to age 70 (for single employees and single parent employees)
- Siblings (for single employees only)
This plan includes inpatient benefits, outpatient benefits, preventative care, dental benefits, flu vaccine coverage, and maternity benefits. You have access to nine major hospitals, Healthway, and The Medical City satellite clinics.
New employees are automatically enrolled in HMO plan through Generali.
If you want to enroll your dependents in the medical insurance plan, complete the Generali Enrolment Form and return it to pops@okta.com.

Flu vaccine coverage
As noted above, Generali includes flu vaccine coverage. Flu vaccines are available for reimbursement. You can file for reimbursement up to 1,500 PHP per year per member. You can avail flu vaccines at any clinic (accredited or non-accredited) if you receive an official receipt for the flu vaccine. The standard reimbursement process applies.

Financial Benefits
Life, total, and permanent disability
Okta’s life and total and permanent disability cover provide financial protection for you and your family. This benefit can help you take care of your family (and yourself) if you become totally or permanently disabled or die. Evidence of good health is required for insurance amounts over PHP 2,500,000. If you are eligible for cover above the NEL, you can apply for the additional portion of cover by going through a standard medical underwriting process, which can include medical and/or blood tests.
New employees: To add a beneficiary to the policy, please expect to receive an automatic email confirming your credentials to log in to the Beneficiary Portal within 3-5 working days. You can refer to the Beneficiary Portal User Guide for more information.
Group personal accident cover
All employees are automatically eligible for Okta’s personal accident cover through ACE Insurance. This benefit is as follows:
- Accidental Death: 24 x monthly basic salary up to a maximum of PHP 20 million
- Accidental Medical Expenses: 10% of accidental death sum insured, up to a maximum of PHP 250,000.
- Accidental burial benefit: PHP 25,000
- Emergency transport: PHP 50,000
- Ambulance cost benefit: PHP 15,000
- Comatose lump sum benefit: PHP 20,000
- Accidental repatriation of mortal remains: PHP 50,000
- Additional accidental death due to natural catastrophe: PHP 30,000
- Additional accidental death due to accidents between 12:00AM to 5:00AM: PHP 20,000
Term life insurance
Okta provides company-paid group life cover and personal accident cover at 24 times your basic monthly salary up to an insurance maximum.
Total and permanent disability insurance
Okta offers funds in the event of total or permanent disability at 24 times your basic monthly salary. In the event of a terminal illness, a lump sum of 50% of the above sum insured up to an insurance maximum is provided.
Business travel accident cover and travel assistance
Your safety and security is very important to us, especially while you are traveling on company business. With that in mind, we are pleased to provide you with business travel accident (BTA) insurance from an AIG member company. With this coverage, you have access to AIG’s business travel insurance plan in the event you experience any travel inconveniences, security issues or medical emergencies while traveling anywhere in the world.
If you’re traveling on behalf of Okta for company business, you (and your eligible dependents, if traveling with you) are covered if something happens, and there is no cost to you.
As part of this coverage, you are also provided with travel assistance services from AIG. Services available to you include:
- Travel security assistance
- Travel medical assistance
- Identity theft assistance
- Concierge services

Mobile phone and internet
Okta reimburses full-time employees for personal cell phone and internet service. A monthly maximum reimbursement amount applies. For more details, see the T&E policy on the Expenses Wiki.
You need to submit your cell phone and internet receipts for approval and reimbursement.
Rewards
13th month pay
In addition to your base pay, employees who have worked at least 1 month of the year are eligible to receive 13th month pay, which is equivalent to 1/12 of your annual base pay. The 13th month pay is paid out annually on 30 November.
The measurement dates for the 13th month pay are 1 December – 30 November and will be prorated based on an employee’s start date. Qualified employees shall be paid their 13th month pay on or before the 20th of December of the calendar year.
Allowance
You will be paid a monthly de minimis allowance of 2,850 PHP to include 2,000 PHP for rice subsidy, 300 PHP for uniform and clothing allowance, 250 PHP for medical cash allowance, and 300 PHP for laundry allowance.
Time Away
Okta offers several benefits that provide you with time away from work: From paid holidays to vacation time to rest, relax, and refresh, and volunteer time off to give back to communities in which we live and work. Be sure to give your manager advance notice before scheduling your time away. You should schedule your time off requests through Workday.

Each year, Okta offers several paid holidays, so you can take time away from work to celebrate with those you love. To see the full list of global paid holidays, view the global paid holiday calendar. You can also add these dates to your Google calendar.
We are excited to share that all of Okta will recognize the last week in December (December 23 - 27) as a global Wellbeing Week. This period is in addition to the New Year holiday(s) observed in your country.

Paid time off
Vacation
Eligibility: Regular employees in the Philippines.
Entitlement: 15 days annually.
Accrual rules: Vacation time accrues monthly but balances are front-loaded on January 1. New hires accrue 1.25 days on the first of the month, prorated based on start date in the first month.
Carryover rules: Unused balances up to 10 days will be paid out following the end of the calendar year. Any unused balance in excess of 10 days will carry forward to the next calendar year to be used by the end of March. Unused carryover balances will be forfeited in April.
How to request vacation time: Submit requests in half or full day increments through Workday for manager approval.
Sick time
Eligibility: Regular employees in the Philippines.
Entitlement: 15 days annually.
Accrual rules: Time accrues monthly but balances are front-loaded on January 1. New hires accrue 1.25 days on the first of the month, prorated based on start date in the first month.

Other time off
Volunteer time off (VTO)
Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is core to Okta’s mission. That’s why Okta provides and encourages employees to take four days off to engage in volunteer events each year with an eligible nonprofit.
Be sure to give your manager advance notice before scheduling your VTO.
Leaves of absence
Okta recognises that from time to time, employees may have the need to take a leave of absence. Okta provides several types of other leaves to meet your needs.
Solo parents’ leave
Eligibility: Regular employees in the Philippines with at least one year of service who are a solo parent.
Entitlement: 7 days annually.
Accrual rules: Time is not accrued and does not carry a balance.
Carryover rules: Not applicable.
How to request solo parents’ leave: Submit requests in half or full day increments through Workday for manager approval.
Additional information: To be eligible for this leave you must first upload a copy of your Solo Parent Identification Card to Workday (Personal Information > Change Government ID).
Bereavement leave
Eligibility: All employees in the Philippines.
Entitlement: 3 or 5 days (see the “Additional Information” section below).
Accrual rules: Time is not accrued and does not carry a balance.
Carryover rules: Not applicable.
How to request bereavement leave: Submit requests through Workday for manager approval.
Additional information: Employees may take up to 5 days for the loss of an immediate family member or a loss of pregnancy, and up to 3 days for a non-immediate family member. Immediate family members include your spouse or domestic partner, child, sibling, parent or step-parent (including in-laws), grandparent or step-grandparent, grandchild or step-grandchild.
Marriage leave
Eligibility: All employees in the Philippines.
Entitlement: 3 days
Accrual rules: Time is not accrued and does not carry a balance.
Carryover rules: Not applicable.
How to request marriage leave: Submit requests in half or full day increments through Workday for manager approval.
Additional information: The entitlement is per marriage. Time off must be taken at the time of the marriage. Only an employee's own marriage qualifies.
Emergency leave
Eligibility: All employees in the Philippines.
Entitlement: 3 days annually.
Accrual rules: Time is not accrued and does not carry a balance.
Carryover rules: Not applicable.
How to request emergency leave: Submit requests in half or full day increments through Workday for manager approval.
Additional information: Days off cannot be requested consecutively.

Modern Health, Okta’s EAP provider, balances on-demand digital tools with virtual coaching (and therapy, if needed). You set up the approach that best meets your needs. Your family members are also covered, all at no cost to you.
How Modern Health can help you and your family
Modern Health provides support for many areas:
- Work performance—find coaching and support to improve productivity, leadership skills, work relationships, and professional development
- Financial well-being—for example, when your student loan debt seems to take over, or you need help with saving for an emergency and planning for future financial needs

You can share Modern Health with qualified dependents. Generally, this is consistent with how your health plan defines dependents. Some examples include:
- A legal spouse or registered domestic partner
- A child between the ages of 6 and 26
- A relative that resides in the same household
You will receive up to 8 therapy + 8 coaching sessions per person per calendar year, in addition to unlimited access to Modern Health digital resources, like Meditations and Soundscapes, and Community Circles.
Getting started with Modern Health
Modern Health dependent access is initiated by the employee through the app settings. They provide some basic information such as name, birthdate, and email address, and then Modern Health sends a message to them to register. In most countries it's only available to those 6+ for therapy, and 18+ for all content. Learn more about getting started with Modern Health.
Sign up! We recommend using the Modern Health app to get started, or you can register at Modern Health.
You can also access Modern Health via SSO on your mobile device. Follow these five steps:
- Open Okta Verify.
- Click on: Launch Dashboard.
- Select: Sign in with Okta FastPass.
- Search for Modern Health in Dashboard and launch it.
- If you THEN download and open the Modern Health app, you should be automatically authenticated.
Take a confidential well-being assessment and go from there
You’ll complete a well-being survey, and from there Modern Health will deliver your personalised wellness plan, match you with the appropriate personal coach, and provide you with personalised links to the Modern Health digital library.
Connecting on your terms
Modern Health provides you with up to eight video sessions with your coach or therapist. You also have unlimited access to your coach through text or email.
If your coach or your well-being survey indicates you have a clinical need—for example, you may suffer from depression—Modern Health will recommend a therapist to work with in addition to your dedicated coach.
As you get to the end of your covered sessions, you and your coach or therapist can work with Modern Health to determine the next steps for continuing your relationship.

Modern Health provides 24/7 counselor phone support for urgent needs and critical incidents, extended work-life services, manager support for workplace concerns through their EAP partner, Workplace Options (WPO). Along with your confidential sessions with your coach or therapist, you’ll have access to a variety of helpful resources, such as:
- Educational videos and flyers on helpful topics such as the difference between coaching and therapy, a coaching miniseries, caregiver resources, and support for children and adolescents.
- Self-guided courses on a variety of topics, such as: Building Healthy Habits, How to Set Yourself Up for Better Sleep, the Art of Giving & Receiving Feedback and more!
- Short meditations to help you practice mindfulness.
Also, check out Circles, which are community spaces to help you learn, grow, and connect across topics that impact your day-to-day life. You have unlimited access to Circles – attend as many or as few as you like. Modern Health regularly refreshes the available topics so feel free to come back if you don’t see something for you right away. Carrot Fertility healthcare and family forming services
We have partnered with Carrot Fertility to provide our employees with inclusive fertility, hormonal health, and family-forming benefits. Employees can utilize Carrot to get personalized support – regardless of age, race, income, sex, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, or geography.
Through Carrot, you can get support* with:
- Understanding fertility health (e.g., fertility testing and ovulation tracking)
- Preservation (e.g., egg, sperm, embryo freezing)
- Assisted reproduction (e.g., in vitro fertilization)
- Adoption, gestational surrogacy, and donor assistance
- Pregnancy and postpartum (includes funds for doula support and milk shipping)

Okta-provided funds to support your needs
Okta provides you with money for reimbursing your eligible expenses related to fertility healthcare and adoption.
The company may reimburse you for 100% of your eligible expenses, up to a $5,000 annual maximum. Expenses for you and/or your spouse or domestic partner are combined. Please note that some banks may charge an international transfer fee.

Bump Boxes help Okta to celebrate and support expecting families during pregnancy, after your baby comes into the world, and as you return to work after bonding time with your new baby.
- When you register for Bump Boxes, you’ll receive three boxes with fun (and useful) swag that promotes a healthy pregnancy and things you can use when your baby arrives.

What’s covered?
