Okta provides employees with supplemental coverage to the National Health Scheme. Insured by Skandia, this supplemental coverage enhances the National Health Scheme in the following ways:
- Provides access to private hospitals in Sweden
- Online care for minor conditions
- Covers eligible healthcare expenses not covered by National Health
- Additional cancer care insurance
To use the insurance, you must first contact the insurance company for support and approval for all treatments in advance. The insurance does not cover emergency care - treatment for emergency care should be sought from your nearest hospital.
New vision benefit
Okta offers a vision benefit which covers you for an eye test and spectacles if needed for use with visual display equipment. Reimbursement for the eye test is through T&E and if spectacles are needed for VDU use, Okta will reimburse you up to the cost of 1000 SEK.
Financial + Rewards
Planning for and keeping track of the income you’ll have for the future starts today.
- 4.5% of pensionable salary of 0-7.5 IBA
- 30% of pensionable salary of 7.5-IBA
Annual pensionable salary is defined as monthly base salary x 12.2, while IBA is “Income Based Amount” as set annually by local pension regulations in Sweden.
You are 100% vested in the plan at all times.
At retirement you’ll have access to your account balance.
New employees and making changes: Employees who are interested in enrolling in pension or have a general pension question, please reach out to Mercer by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Waiver of pension premium
A percentage of your pay goes toward your public pension benefit, and if you have trouble paying your pension plan premiums because you’re unable to work, Okta has you covered.
Okta’s insurer will pay premiums if you are unable to work for three months (90 days).
You’re covered up to age 65.
Okta pays the full cost of this coverage.
Okta provides this benefit to replace part of your income if you are sick or become disabled for an extended period and you cannot work.
After a 90-day waiting period, you will receive a portion of your base salary. Your benefit payment will be:
- Proportional to your loss of function (you must be at least 25% incapacitated)
- Based on the plan’s salary interval schedule (contact Okta Benefits for details)
Okta pays the full cost of this coverage.
Okta provides life insurance coverage for you and your family.
If you die, your beneficiary receives a lump-sum payment. The benefit maximum is six times the price base amount (PBA).
An additional lump sum may be paid to your child(ren).

No matter where you sit in the world, our programs help to foster a sense of belonging and to reflect the communities in which we live and work.

Okta provides a car allowance to employees in certain job roles.
Your base pay works together with Okta’s bonus, equity grants (aka, “long-term incentives” or “RSUs”), and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) to provide you with a highly competitive pay and ownership opportunity. It’s how you share in the success of the company you’re helping to build and grow.
Cash incentive bonus program
How the cash incentive bonus program works
Okta sets your bonus target as a percentage of your base pay, based on your job level.
The company’s performance against pre-established objectives determines whether Okta will pay bonuses each year—there is no guarantee. Company performance objectives may include achievement of annual revenue targets, net annual recurring revenue, bookings, and EBITDA.
Long-term incentives (RSUs)
Okta’s equity grants are made in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
RSUs are a form of equity compensation issued by Okta.
Okta grants RSUs at no cost to you.
For each grant, Okta converts the value into a number of RSUs based on the monthly average closing price of one share of Okta in the month prior to the grant.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
You have another opportunity to benefit from the company’s growth and the shareholder value your work helps to create. By choosing to participate in the employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), eligible employees can invest directly in the company—by purchasing shares of Okta stock at a discount.
Buy shares of Okta stock twice a year and get at least a 15% discount on your shares. Eligible employees have two opportunities each year to enroll: May and November.
Questions? Go to the Okta Equity page on The Landing or email Stock@okta.com.
The ESPP may be a great investment
Through simple after-tax payroll deductions, you can purchase shares of Okta stock at a minimum 15% discount.
You decide if you’d like to participate, and how much you’d like to contribute—anywhere from 1% to 15% of your eligible pay. Certain limits apply.
Enrol online in May or November
You must enrol for the ESPP while the enrolment period is open. If you miss the window, you’ll need to wait until the next open enrolment period.
Shares are purchased twice a year on June 20 and December 20
The amount you pay for the shares is the lower of two prices—the offering date price or the purchase date price. The 15% discount is applied to the lowest of the two prices.
Once purchased, your Okta shares are yours to keep
When the purchase period ends, shares are purchased for you and are deposited into your E*TRADE account. At that point, you own your Okta shares, and you decide how long to hold them.
Okta offers several benefits that provide you with time away from work: From paid holidays to vacation time to rest, relax, and refresh, and volunteer time off to give back to communities in which we live and work. Be sure to give your manager advance notice before scheduling your time away. You should schedule your time off requests through Workday
Each year, Okta offers several paid holidays, so you can take time away from work to celebrate with those you love. To see the full list of global paid holidays, view the global paid holiday calendar. You can also add these dates to your Google calendar.
We are excited to share that all of Okta will recognize the last week in December (December 23 - 27) as a global Wellbeing Week. This period is in addition to the New Year holiday(s) observed in your country.

Modern Health provides you with up to eight video sessions with your coach or therapist. You also have unlimited access to your coach through text or email.
If your coach or your well-being survey indicates you have a clinical need—for example, you may suffer from depression—Modern Health will recommend a therapist to work with in addition to your dedicated coach.
As you get to the end of your covered sessions, you and your coach or therapist can work with Modern Health to determine the next steps for continuing your relationship.
24/7 counselor phone support for urgent needs
Need support now? Modern Health provides 24/7 counselor phone support for urgent needs and critical incidents, extended work-life services, manager support for workplace concerns through their EAP partner, Workplace Options (WPO). These courses include hacks for your own needs—for example, to prevent work burnout and handle relationships with your coworkers.
Also, check out Circles, which are community spaces to help you learn, grow, and connect across topics that impact your day-to-day life. You have unlimited access to Circles – attend as many or as few as you like. Modern Health regularly refreshes the available topics so feel free to come back if you don’t see something for you right away. You can also view videos on demand, if you can’t make it to a live Circle. Learn more about Circles.
