The takeaway
Starting January 1, 2026, Okta will transition its dental coverage from MetLife to Delta Dental. This page provides everything you need to know, what actions to take, and where to find additional support.
Overview
We’re making the change from MetLife to Delta Dental to give you access to a broader network of providers while maintaining the same comprehensive dental benefits you enjoy today—from preventive care and cleanings to major procedures like crowns and periodontal treatment.
Heads up for Open Enrollment!
When you access your Open Enrollment task in Workday, you’ll notice that your 2025 dental plan elections through MetLife are set to automatically transition. This means that for 2026 you’ll be automatically enrolled in the new plan through Delta Dental with the same coverage level you have right now (i.e., employee-only or family coverage), unless you make an alternative election during Open Enrollment.
Coverage highlights
With Delta Dental, you can visit any dentist, but you’ll save more when you choose providers in the PPO or Premier networks. For more coverage highlights, view the Delta Dental overview.

Find an in-network dentist
Before January 1, 2026, confirm if your current dentist is in-network by:
- Visiting the Delta Dental website.
- Selecting Find a Dentist on the homepage.
- Entering your location, dentist or office name, and choosing the Premier network option (results will include both in-network PPO and Premier providers).
You can also check directly with your dentist. Tip: In-network providers typically offer greater savings and avoid balance billing.
Access your digital ID card
Once enrolled, you’ll receive a digital ID card through the Delta Dental website no later than December 22. To access your digital ID card go to the Delta Dental app on your Okta Dashboard or visit their website.
If you’re in the middle of a dental treatment
Here’s what to expect during the transition:
- All services received through December 31, 2025, will be covered by MetLife, provided claims are submitted within 12 months of the service date.
- Starting January 1, 2026, all services will be covered by Delta Dental.
- For ongoing orthodontic treatment, Delta Dental will review your original treatment plan and all payments already made by you and MetLife to accurately calculate any remaining lifetime maximum benefits. To ensure uninterrupted coverage, your orthodontist must submit updated claim documentation to Delta Dental.
